AgWeather IPM Apple Insect Product
Description
The IPM Apple Insect Product provides weather and insect egg-hatch or emergence information to help apple growers manage insect infestations. Information about six common apple insects is provided; oriental fruit moth (OFM), coddling moth (CM), tufted apple bud moth (TABM), oblique-banded leaf roller (OBLR), spotted tentiform leaf miner (STLM), and apple maggot (AM). The six insect models provide daily percentages of hatch or emergence as well as SkyBit's pest wait/watch/warning evaluation for each insect.
Growers are encouraged to monitor and report trap catch for these insects to ensure greater accuracy of the product. Growers also automatically receive SkyBit's frost/freeze warnings during the spring and fall as part of their subscription to this service.
