Meso, Inc. has been a leader in atmospheric modeling since 1985. We specialize in the development and application of atmospheric numerical models. These models are used for a wide range of research and real-time operational purposes. Products generated by our models are used to solve a variety of problems that require solutions that require both climatological information and weather forecasts.

Meso's main focus is modeling the atmosphere. In addition, our scope of expertise extends from traditional atmospheric science into other related disciplines, such as oceanography, hydrology, soil science and biometeorology. Meso's products not only describe the earth's atmosphere, but also the oceans, hydrological processes, soil surface and vegetation conditions.

Forecasting Services

Meso runs a variety of atmospheric models for numerous regions of the world every day for many different applications. The model simulations produce atmospheric data for regions that lack sufficient observational weather data. The output is often further refined to produce site specific forecasts and decision making aids for applications such as energy production and load forecasting, and various agricultural needs.

We can provide forecasted or simulated data in a variety of forms to meet a need you may have for detailed information about the weather or the environment.

Climate Simulations

If you have a need for historical weather or climate statistical information for locations where there are no history of observations, we can provide this information to you. Meso has developed the capability to provide accurate climate and environmental simulations that can be customized to your needs. If you need to know the history or probability of a weather event, atmospheric phenomena or environmental condition we can find an answer.

Modeling Research

Meso develops and utilizes various models to meet the needs of a wide range of customers. For example, our Mesoacale Atmospheric Simulations System (MASS) model is used both for research and for operational applications. Meso is also part of the team that developed the OMEGA adaptive grid model.

OMEGA is designed for accurate high-resolution forecasts of air quality factors and the dispersion of toxic material. Meso developed the Advanced Climate Model and Environmental Simulation modeling system used by the US Air Force Combat Climatology Center. We also have expertise in modifying and applying community models such as the WRF and MM5 models.

Other Applications

Meso produces a whole host of high resolution forecasting products. Products range, from the traditional meteorological data on pressure surfaces, to tailored products such as aircraft icing and turbulence, to non-traditional forecasts products such as solar radiation. These are customizable based on your needs.

AWS Truepower

Meso, Inc., in partnership with AWS Scientific, has formed AWS Truepower, LLC to provide the most advanced resource characterization, mapping and forecasting products available to the wind energy industry today. Meso, Inc. brings:

• Unmatched expertise in advanced atmospheric computer modeling via the use of our proprietary MASS model.
• The capability to innovate customer specific modeling methods for the production of wind mapping and real time forecasting.
• The capability and resources to move from R&D - to product production - to real time delivery, while operating the partnership's IT infrastructure.

AWS Truepower produces products under the trade names of eWind and MesoMap. AWS Truepower also offers its customers a complete range of consulting services, from feasibility studies to wind plant design.

Meteosim

Meso, Inc. has partnered with researchers from the University of Barcelona in Spain to form Meteosim. Meteosim is a private Spanish company specializing in providing weather services and information to the European and South American community in the form of raw meteorological data or customized forecasts.

• Meteosim provides a entire range of products and services to the recreation, agricultural, and media industries. They also provided modeling services to government and private forecasting agencies.
• Meteosim services include Meteorological Research.
• Meteosim products are produced using Meso's MASS model output delivered in real time.
